Massa Gets His First Win
Felipe Massa stormed to his first win at Turkey this weekend. His team mate came in in third position behind championship leader Fernando Alonso. Michael lost time when he had to queue behind Massa in the pit lane which gave Fernando Alonso the ability to jump Schumacher.
Raikkonen crashes in Turkey
Kimi Raikkonen has been the first big retirement in the Turkish Gp. He crashed on lap three after he got a rear puncture in the first corner accidents. he was hit from behind by the Torro Rosso of Scott Speed.
Massa gets his first ever pole position
Felipe Massa was at the top of the times today at istanbul in turkey he came in just ahead of his team mate Michael Schumacher who had a poor first sector on his fastest lap. With an all red front row the championship looks to be swinging in Schumacher's favour. Massa outpaced his team mate by almost 0.4 seconds by setting a stunning 1:26.9 click here to view the starting positions for this race.
Renault cant use their mass damper system
The FIA have said that the mass damper system used by Renault they have said that it goes against article 3.15 of the technical regulations.
Massa not sure if he will keep his role as Ferrari's second driver
Felipe Massa is currently the second driver for the Ferrari team but his future all depends on what Michael Schumacher will be doing with his future. With Kimi Raikkonen looking as though he is almost certainly going to join the Italian Squad Massa's future all depends on whether Michael Schumache decides to stay with the Ferrari team.
The Championship Is Heating Up.
With Only 5 races Left in the 2006 Formula One World Championship both Michael Schumacher and Fernando Alonso are feeling the pressure. There are a possible fifty points remaining and only a ten point gap between the two top drivers- its still any ones game. With the Ferraris having out performed Renault most of the second half of the season its going to be tough for Fernando Alonso and Renault to keep their points advantage.
Jenson Won It At Last
After his engine let go in practice Jenson had to take a ten place drop from wherever he qualified. He Qualified the Honda in 4th and therefore started the race from 14th position. He Stormed through the field on the Michelin Tyres which were performing substantially better than the Brigestones in the wet conditions. Fortunatley for Jenson both Renaults and Kimi Raikkonen in the Mclaren Dropped Out Of the race. For More on this race click here.
Kubica Is Disqualified
After such a strong debut outing in the BMW Sauber Robert Kubica was stripped of his 7th place finish because the car was found to be 2kg under the minimum weight for the race.
Kubica Storms On To The F1 Scene
Robert Kubica was standing in for Jaques Villenuve this weekend in the BMW Sauber team he made a huge impact on his debut weekend. He set a flying lap in qualifying and finished up in 9th position. Due to the wet conditions during the race Kubica had a few spins but even after these set backs throughout he still managed to bring the car home in 7th position. For More On This Race click here
Will Raikkonen settle at Ferrari, Renault Or Mclaren?
Ice Man has yet to make his decision for where his future lies. There are some strong links placing him with Ferrari but he has yet to announce his final decision.
De La Rosa, Paffet or Hamilton for Mclaren?
The Mclaren Team are Currently 3rd in the constructors Championship - but with the departure of their second driver Montoya to NASCAR Pedro De La Rosa has been filling in for the Colombian driver. There are a lot of question marks over who will be in the Mclaren team next year. The options they are considering are Pedro De La Rosa, Gary Paffet their second test driver this season or Louis Hamilton who is the current leader of the GP2 championship.
